What’s covered in the MOT test

A standard MOT test in the UK checks the vehicle identification number (VIN), registration plate, and all lights. It examines steering, suspension, and brakes, ensuring they are in good condition. The test also covers exhaust emissions, seat belts, windscreen, wipers, washers, horn, and the overall structural integrity of the vehicle.

The MOT certificate

The MOT certificate confirms that at the time of the test, without dismantling anything, your vehicle met the law requirement and is roadworthy for the time stated on certificate.

The certificate is no guarantee on general mechanical condition of the engine and gearbox.
